Scotch Demonstration at RW&B

Posted by staceyblacker

Treat Yourself & your Friends to a Scotch Lesson

Do you love Scotch?  Do you have friends that love Scotch?  Join us for a very, very special evening and introduce yourself to a slew of amazing Scotches you’ve probably never seen or heard of before.  A rare treat — our resident Scotch Maven, Mike Battaglia, will be in town and we snagged him up to do a demonstration.  THIS IS A DON’T MISS FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES SCOTCH because Mike has some amazing products and even more amazing is his knowledge of fine Scotch.  The date is Wednesday, December 16th at 6pm.  Your RSVP is required (respond to this e-mail).
Learn about Port Charlotte Octomore — rumored to be the “Peat-y-ist” Scotch ever made.  Or how about Bruichladdich’s Yellow Submarine?  Named for a real submarine found 7 miles from Islay’s Bruichladdich’s distillery!
Do NOT pass on this extraordinary experience.  You will be allowed to special order any Scotch you want in time for Christmas or the end of Hanukkah.

New Belgian Beers come to NJ & RW&B has ‘em first!

New Belgian Beers come to NJ & RW&B is the first to get them

Two weeks ago we met the coolest guy.  His name is Brian Ewing and he is the founder & owner of a company called “Twelve Percent”.  What Brian does is to find obscure and wonderful Belgian beers and bring them back to the US.  Most of what he discovers and distributes come from teeny tiny breweries with small production.   The mission of Twelve Percent is simple:  Travel in search of the finest hand-crafted ales available — and bring them home.  Based out of Brooklyn, Brian is very picky about who he sells his products to so he sought out Red, White & Brew as a place to carry his amazing beers in NJ.  We are honored that Brian chose our store to debut his fantastically boutique beers.  You will NOT see these beers ANYWHERE in the area.   Stop by and check them out.  Grab a few for your Thanksgiving dinner.  Have a sampling party.  We can honestly tell you that there isn’t a bad one in the bunch — we tried every one of them and LOVED them.  Below is the label from De Hoevebrouwers - Koekelaring.  A Belgian Brown Ale with an alcohol content of 6.5%.  Medium brown in color with a tan head and tight lacing, this ale boasts notes of cinnamon with a faint malt sweetness and a finish of dry, hoppy bitterness.  Delicious!
