Recession Buster Wines

We are here to tell you that there are PLENTY of great wines out there that are affordable.  Trust us when we recommend something and be careful when we warn you that something is a CLOSEOUT.  Many times our distributors sell us things in bulk and give us a crazy closeout price which we, in turn, sell to you.  When we tell you t hat something is a limited sale  and you like it — JAM ON IT!!!  Who knows how long it’s gonna last!

Like Terrazzo Red & White.  Two of our favorite blends are back again!  At under $10 a bottle, you cannot beat ‘em!  These wines come in spurts so it’s important to give them a try when we have them in.  The white is a blend of 80% Verdicchio and 20% Trebbiano.  Great to have with proscuitto and melon.  The red blend is 40% Montepulciano and 60% Sangiovese.  Awesome with tomato based bruschetta or jambalaya.

YOU Asked for CANS!

Microbrew Beers in CANS — you asked for more of ‘em, better kinds, more kinds, funky kinds —- and we did it!  Great beer in cans — take ‘em to ball games, concerts, the beach and the pool.  Sly Fox Brewery from PA, 21st Amendment Brewery from San Fran, and more!  Don’t put your nose up to beer in cans — show some love!

Ramstein beers, from Butler, NJ are  difficult to come by.  You’d be hard pressed to find them ANYWHERE south of Trenton.  And it’s not a  stretch to say that we are one of the only — if not THE only — store in Southern New Jersey carrying anything from Ramstein.   So when we get a delivery of Ramstein beer — we covet it.  And we let you all know about it through a major SHOUT OUT - because it is usually gone before we get it on the shelves.  Yes, it’s THAT popular.  When people get wind of a delivery — the flock in.  Here’s your fair warning:  WE HAVE 7 cases of RAMSTEIN!

ReVisiting an OLD Friend for THx4

This Thursday, June 18th is our monthly THx4 - which, most of you know, means Thirsty?  Think Third Thursday.  Yup, it’s the 3rd Thursday of the month.  We usually like to do it up in GRAND style (ok, some months not as grand as others).  This month - meaning THIS THURSDAY - we are going to take it UP a notch!  Stop by Red, White & Brew any time between 5 & 7 pm and see what we mean.

First, we will re-visit an old friend.  Stephen Vincent Crimson has always been one of our best selling red wines.  Come and sample it this Thursday to remind yourself why you have always LOVED this wine!  A blend of Syrah and Cabernet, Stephen Vincent Crimson has everything it takes: priced under $15 a bottle, deep ripe berry flavors and an ability to perfectly match most foods.  Great with everything from pizza and pasta to a big, fat juicy steak.

ALSO - with summer BEATING down our door, we figured we’d take advantage and entice you with some MOCKTAILS!!!  For months now we have been telling you about our FAVORITE mixers —- made by Tilted Palm.  Come taste their unbelievable Margarita Mix and SCRUMPTIOUS Sweet & Sour Mix and MARVEL at why we are selling them for ONLY $2 a bottle!!!  Quantities at this price are OH, SO LIMITED that we highly suggest that if you like them as much as we do, you should grab a case (at $20 for 12 bottles!) and set yourself up for the summer!

Caipirinha — The Official Summer Drink of Mt Holly

If any of you have been to Brazil (or a crazy party in Mt Holly) you have heard of the Brazilian Sugar Cane Liqueur called Cachaca.  The Official Drink of Brazil is the Caipirinha and it is made with Cachaca.  We warn you:  this drink is not for everyone!  While refreshing and yummy (similar to a Mojito . . . but better) it is - in a word - POTENT!

Red, White & Brew is the official headquarters of Cachaca.  While other stores are just beginning to jump on the Cachaca bandwagon, we have been selling it - in record numbers - for years!

Caipirinha ~ in 5 easy steps:

1.) 1 lime, cut into small pieces   2.)  Muddle the lime and one tablespoon sugar in a small jar (recommended: small peanut butter jar)    3.)  Fill the jar with 6 or 7 ice cubes and 2 ounces (a shot) of Cachaca    4.)  Put the lid on the jar and SHAKE.  And SHAKE!     5.)  Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Colonel Blides from Cricket Hill

Cricket Hill Brewery is Back  in South Jersey and we couldn’t be more thrilled.  Colonel Blides Cask Ale is one of Cricket Hill’s flagship beers.  It has a semi-sweet smell with a slight fruity aroma to it.  In the glass it is beautiful.  It has a caramel / copper color to it  and a light white head of foam when it’s poured into its glass.  Yum.  Somewhat hoppy but not overly so.  Very drinkable; very food friendly.

We also recommend Cricket Hill’s Jersey Summer Breakfast Ale as well as their Hopnotic, American Ale & East Coast Lager!

A Great New Summer Find - St Hallett Poacher’s Blend

St Hallett of Australia has come up with a perfect summer sipper — they call it Poacher’s Blend.  68% Semillon, 21% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Riesling make this wine the perfect complement to seafood, white meat and vegetarian dishes.  Together these varieties offer fresh crispness and lifted tropical fruit flavors of passionfruit, lime, lemongrass and pineapple.  Light and gulpable as a summer wine should be!
