Blue Point Octoberfest
In a world of instant gratification and at a time where we start celebrating Halloween in September, the Octoberfests and Pumpkin beers are slowly coming to an end — before October even begins! Make way for the winter beers, huh??!! But before the Octoberfests, Autumn Ales and Pumpkin beers come to a screeching halt, stop by Red, White & Brew and stock up. We highly recommend the new Blue Point Octoberfest, from Long Island, NY. Just the right amount of maltiness and full-bodied make this beer the ultimate Octoberfest. A true Octoberfest.
Renwood Vineyards Old Vine Zinfandel
The Old Vine Zinfandel is comprised of the best selection of Old Vine vineyard lots in the Shenandoah Valley, each adding its own nuance and complexity to the final blend. Brick red in color, the aromas are reminiscent of holiday spices, berry pie and cedar. The flavor has ripe fruit with a background of nutmeg. The tannins are moderate and ripe. Aging in American oak lends a note of vanilla and a hint of coffee bean to round out the melange of flavors.
Ipswich Oatmeal Stout
Ipswich Oatmeal Stout is deep, rich and malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. It’s what espresso would be if it had the gumption to be beer! The brewers use three different hop additions — specially selected crystal malts, roasted barley, and oatmeal to give it a soft and silky mouth feel. Makes a great dessert — or meal. In business since 1991, Ipswich beer can only be found in MA, NH & NJ!
Vina Maquis Lien - a blend of yumminess
Vina Maquis Lien is a blend of Syrah, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec grapes, resulting in a distinctive wine that reflects the special plot of land the Hurtado Vicuna family owns in the Colchagua Valley in Chile. The vineyards and winery are located at the confluence of two historic rivers - the Chimbarongo and the Tinguiririca. The cool breezes from these rivers contribute to the richness and the fruitiness of the wine. Ricardo Hurtado and his team pride themselves in creating such a generous red wine full of character and a sense of place. Priced right at under $15, this wine will be perfect for your dinner tonight (or any night) out on the grill. B-B-Qued ribs, Chops, Steaks or even Poultry will be a great match for this wine.
From Seattle - Elysian Brewery - The Immortal IPA
Another new brew to New Jersey, Elysian beers are highly touted in the Seattle area. The Immortal IPA is refreshingly hoppy. A Northwestern interpretation of a classic English style, golden copper in color and loaded with New World hop flavor and aroma. “B+” rating from Beer Advocate and “86 points” from Rate Beer. If you’re a hop monster — give it a shot.
Susie Selby’s Wonderful Wines Highlight THx4
For months & months & months & months we have been singing the praises of Selby wines. The Selby Sauvignon Blanc is our #1 selling white wine - not just our #1 selling California white wine: our #1 selling white wine — period. And the Bobcat Zinfandel - well, you’ve heard the story about how we liked it so much we bought every single case in the entire state of New Jersey! Stacey has made the claim that she won’t rest until everyone has at least tried the Bobcat Zin and, even though this wine is over $30 a bottle, we will be pouring it at our next THx4 (a/k/a Thirsty? Think Third Thursday). We only have a few bottles left but we want you to try this amazing wine so badly. And when you try it this Thursday at Red, White & Brew, we want you to think to yourself “yes, it’s a tad price-y but it is so incredibly fantastic I’m going to buy ! a bottle and save it for Thanksgiving or Christmas or New Year’s dinner. Or I can give it as a gift to someone really special”. Bobcat Zinfandel is not made in the traditional winemaking style. The grapes are picked at maximum sugar levels to attain the most extreme concentration possible. Rich flavors, a touch of sweetness and high alcohol content makes this the most intense wine Selby produces. Rich and bold dark cherry fruit with hints of pepper, anise and nutmeg.

Founder’s Brewery from Michigan — Breakfast Stout
As soon as New Jersey got in Founder’s beers, we were inundated with questions about their Breakfast Stout. It’s finally here! Finally. Founder’s Brewing is cool because they are not out there to impress the masses. Like Red, White & Brew they know there is a sophisticated select few who will enjoy their beers and we do — ah, yes - we do! You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this awesome brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose topped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and make you wish that breakfast would last forever.
Ninquen Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile
Aromas of black currant, fig and plums with a touch of cedar and spice. Tastes of velvety smoothness and a full-bodied, well-structured ripe finish. This wine is calling out for a big red meat or hard cheese. Ninquen (nin-ken) means “plateau on a mountain” and is the first and unique mountain estate in Chile. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with two entire years in oak make this wine age-worthy but also ready to kick ass right now!
From Rogue Brewing - Double Dead Guy
The Taste of a REAL Merlot; Compliments of Fidelitas Winery
Prime Rib-Eye Steaks with Mustard Parmesan Crust
In June we introduced Meditrina from the Sokol Blosser winery and re-introduced Evolution #9 (also from Sokol Blosser) and they have been a HUGE hit all summer long. We have them on sale through Labor Day weekend — priced at $15, normally $19! — so scoop ‘em up b4 they go back to the outrageous price!
The Evolution, especially, is a real fan-favorite. It’s made up of 9 different grapes & has that real light, springy, touch of sweetness kinda fun thing going on that everyone wants. Great by itself but also perfect with Chinese, Thai or Cantonese foods — ooh, and Indian too. The touch of sweetness offsets the spiciness in the foods.
Sake for everyday? Yes!
I have had an epiphany over the last couple of months - ever since my salesman, Brian (guru of all things dee-lish), brought in this new line of Sakes he now carries. I’ll admit, I was real skeptical. In all my years of booze, I had only really come across mundane kinds of sakes - you know, the ones that taste like lighter fluid. Well, Brian has certainly given me cause to change my mind. Some with tastes of banana, peaches, clean flavors with yummy strawberry notes. Sake that doesn’t just go with sushi - sake that can be paired with nutty cheeses and spicy Italian dishes. Wild. Some I’d even have with desserts. Check ‘em out.
