Beer

 Beer Essentials

OK, so we all know the deal -- beer is made up of 3 major ingredients (water, grain & hops) with yeast thrown in there for good measure.  But to the beer drinker, the most important part of beer is its taste.  Are you a fan of brown ale?  Or is an altbier more your style -- a German style light ale that is cold conditioned?  Perhaps you would rather have a porter (a less pronounced malt flavor with a slightly sweet taste) or would you rather just throw back a lambic(dry, sour, cloudy and similar in taste to a cider)??

Whatever your taste and from whatever country you desire - we have it here at Red, White & Brew.  We always have a TON of Belgian beer in stock, as that is what our customers seem to prefer but you will also see an eclectic array of beer from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, England and other countries.

Three cheers to the Red, White & Brew -- we cannot help having a fantastic selection of the latest, coolest, cutting edge domestic beers.  We always let our customers know - through our weekly e-newsletter -- about the newest beers that come in to New Jersey.  If you're interested in signing up for our e-newsletter, please do so through this website!

We are constantly bringing in the latest releases from the world's best breweries  - make it part of your week to see what new and exciting craft beers we have added to our collection.

Bayerischer Bahnhof Berliner Style Weisse

Huguenots may have originated the style as they traveled through France to Flanders, having first mentioned it in the 1600s. During their time, there were said to be seven hundred weissbier breweries in Berlin. Later, in 1809, Napoleon and his troops identified Berliner Weisse as the Champagne of the North. He requested the beer be served w/syrup to cut its extreme level of acidity. Bayrischer Bahnhof’s interpretation is a slightly softer, more mellow version of the “Berliner Weisse” style with a beautiful balance of tartness, fruitness, and sweetness.

Saison du BUFF

This beer is collaboration between Dogfish Head, Stone Brewing Co. (Escondido, CA), and Victory Brewing Company (Downington, PA). The idea for this beer germinated way back in 2003 when the three guys (Sam from Dogfish, Greg from Stone and Bill from Victory) formed the BUFF alliance (Brewers United for Freedom of Flavor) - a noble endeavor with the goal to highlight the passion and camaraderie of the American craft brew movement. The beer is a Saison with lots of herbs especially sage, lemon thyme, and parsley. The hops are a new variety called Citra, and they add a nice citrusy backbone to the beer. Definitely made with food in mind - this is a beer worth trying with friends and a great meal.

You'll also find a hoppy aftertaste in this velvety soft beer. Its creamy, rich and robust head crowns this jewel of a beer. Few other dark doubles can rival this Bornem Dubbel.
A 'double' means that the brewer uses twice as much malt as for a regular beer. That gives this beer its full round and rich flavor.

Dogfish Head Theobroma

This beer is based on chemical analysis of pottery fragments found in Honduras which revealed the earliest known alcoholic chocolate drink used by early civilizations to toast special occasions.  The discovery of this beverage pushed back the earliest use of cocoa for human consumption more than 500 years to 1200 BC.  As per the analysis, Dogfish Head’s Theobroma (translated into 'food of the gods') is brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs (from Askinosie Chocolate), honey, chilies, and annatto (fragrant tree seeds). It's light in color - not what you expect with your typical chocolate beer.
